Poker Playing Priest
Some of the older priests of our diocese used to get together to play poker. This often happened on a Friday night. My childhood pastor, Father Robert J. Fox would go to play with Monsignor William Naughton (St. Anne's) and other priest friends, including auxilary Bishop Casey. There was a great espirit de corps among priests then. I pray that the priests today have the same.

To Bishop Clark, From His Humble Servants:
"Prince of degredations, bought and sold,
These verses, written in your crumbling sty,
Proclaim the faith that I have held and hold,
And publish that in which I mean to die."

I was watching this priest play yesterday around 4 PM on that show that pits rookies against pros for a shot at a million dollars. At the end of the episode he had won his first two games for $100,000(?). Good for him, and for his parish.

"Oh, Holy Ghost, descend on me,
that all my winnings fly to thee."
...I have no idea what to say.
