While perusing some links posted here over the last few days, I stumbled across the site dedicated to the cause for canonization for Fulton Sheen. I started reading some of his meditations and thought that the first paragraph of one was very appropriate:
Every now and then people come across a counterfeit bill, but I never knew anyone who, because of it, argued that the United States currency was worthless. Astronomers have seen spots on the sun, but I have yet to hear of one who denied that the sun is the light of the world. But I know many who pick out the failings and sins of a few Catholics and then say: “But, my dear, they don’t tell you everything! The Church is really the work of the devil!”

Such a great man. I have a cd of his mediations and I never tire of it. Imagine what he must think of the DOR now. I would love to hear him give a homily at St anne.

What a shame that Bishop Clark jackhammered Bishop Sheen's marble altar at Sacred Heart Cathedral during the cathedral's infamous renovation.
Bishop Clark did win an award for the renovation in the "Jackhammer Hall of Shame".
