A priest in Chattham Borough, New Jersey was found dead Friday morning after he failed to appear for the 8:00 AM Mass at his parish. A parishioner found him "in a pool of blood" on the floor of the rectory kitchen. He was found in his cassock and Roman collar.
Further investigation by local police determined the attacker to be the parish janitor, who decided it meritorious to stab the pastor and grade-school supervisor 32 times front and back. Fr. Hinds bore defensive wounds on his hands.
It has been concluded that the argument was over employment.
