This piece, by Camille Saint-Saens, is very often performed at Christmas concerts. Saint-Saens most famous work was "Carnival of the Animals." Camille was good friends with Franz Lizst, but couldn't stand the music of Claude Debussy or Richard Strauss. Go figure. Camille either like you and your music or couldn't stand you or your music.
"Prince of degredations, bought and sold, These verses, written in your crumbling sty, Proclaim the faith that I have held and hold, And publish that in which I mean to die."

Pope Benedict XVI and Holy Communion
“The hidden treasure… is Jesus himself, the Kingdom in person. In the Sacred Host, he is present, the true treasure, always waiting for us. Only by adoring this presence do we learn how to receive him properly-we learn the reality of communion”

St. John Fisher - Patron of Cleansing Fire
This blog is dedicated to St. John Fisher, patron of the Diocese of Rochester, New York. His life and death mirrored precisely the way which we strive to serve the community of blogging-faithful: by vigilance, by prayer, by straight-forward catechesis and instruction, and, if necessary, by metaphorical martyrdom. While we may not have the glory of dying real deaths for Christ and His Church, we can die little deaths each day in doing works for Truth and Tradition.
