Sunday Organ Recessional
Some of you go to churches with little or no architectural pizazz, and most often these churches don't have really good organs. So I thought you would enjoy looking at magnificent architecture and some top-notch organ music on Sunday. The piece is the Grand Choeur Dialogue by Eugene Gigout. This piece was the processional played at Archbishop Dolan's installation in St. Patricks in NYC. The cathedral in the video is in Cologne, Germany.

To Bishop Clark, From His Humble Servants:
"Prince of degredations, bought and sold,
These verses, written in your crumbling sty,
Proclaim the faith that I have held and hold,
And publish that in which I mean to die."

FYI, the Director of Music at NYC's St. Patrick Cathedral is Dr. Jennifer Pascual. I believe she was the organist for Archbishop Dolan's installation.
While earning her PhD at the Eastman School of Music she served as the organist at Holy Cross Church in Charlotte.
From what I was told she directed the choir for the installation and played one piece whether it was for Vespers the day before or the day of the installation.
Yes, she did served at Holy Cross and didn't she also do the recital concert for the new organ maybe about 10 years ago or so?
